Hand made and wheel-thrown ceramics
Techniques:
Most of our ceramics are thrown on the potters wheel then trimmed or altered afterward. Occasionally we make hand-built ceramics and slip cast pieces. Our most distinctive technique is the carefully carved and ornate designs created using an exacto blade on our signature carved fruit bowls.
Clay Bodies:
We use a variety of clay bodies and are primarily focused on stoneware. Most pieces are marked with the clay body number and pieces made from porcelain are listed as such.
Firings:
Most pieces are fired at either cone 6 or cone 10 oxidation. We also have raku, wood-fired, and pit-fired ceramic pieces
Glazes:
While we produce pottery with a wide variety of glazes, many of our pieces are in simple, matte glazes which produce interesting colors when breaking over the edges
Food Safe, Microwave Safe, and Dishwasher Safe Pottery:
Unless specified otherwise in the listing, all pieces are food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe. We try to use clays with the lowest possible absorption rates after firing to ensure that your pottery is safe to use and can last a lifetime!
