These vases are done in raku - where they are glazed, quickly heated, then plunged in combustible materials to create iridescent and beautifully irregular finishes. Because raku firings often don't fully vitrify the clay, it's recommended this piece is decorative or to be used with dried flowers/without water to preserve the piece.
